24 Lakh Gold Seized From Passenger From Dubai At Lucknow Airport
Lucknow, April 4 (TNA) The Customs department seized gold worth 24 lakhs at the Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in the state capital late on Sunday. The haul was made from a passenger who flew in from Dubai.
The man told the customs sleuths smuggler admitted that he had to hand over the gold along with his trolley bag to a person waiting outside the airport. On the identity of the smuggler, the person was also arrested.
UP-Uttarakhand customs commissioner Ved Prakash Shukla told that the gold which was seized from the traveler, he had brought it in the form of gold work and was pasted between carbon and foil in the Air India Express flight 194 from Dubai reached Amausi airport on Sunday, a passenger who had disembarked from it was called separately on suspicion, where he was thoroughly screened. In which a total of 460 grams of gold came out from his baggage.
