250 New Electric Buses To Be Added To UP Roadways Fleet For Ayodhya, Kashi, Prayagraj, Mathura And Chitrakoot
Lucknow, August 10 (TNA) To facilitate the movement of people to religious places, the UP State Transport Department has decided to induct 250 electric buses in its bus fleet. For this, a letter has been sent for 40 percent grant under the Fame 2 Scheme of the Government of India, on which the Government of India has given in-principle consent. Transport Corporation will run these inter-city electric buses.
Managing Director Transport Corporation Masoom Ali Sarwar said that Minister of State for Transport (Independent Charge) Dayashankar Singh reviewed the entire project. On the same basis, there is a plan to increase the operation of electric buses in the fleet.
He added that according to the intention of the state government, major religious places like Ayodhya, Kashi, Prayagraj, Mathura, Chitrakoot would be directly connected to the state capital through electric buses. Electric buses are pollution free, environment-friendly as well as economical, the officer underlined.
