316 People Of Uttar Pradesh Safely Rescued From Sudan, Reach Their Homes

Lucknow, April 30 (TNA) In the ongoing rescue operation from Sudan - Operation Kaveri, the Government of India continues to bring back safely people from India from violence-hit Sudan. On Saturday also, 223 people of Uttar Pradesh returned under 'Operation Kaveri', which was started for the return of Indians stranded in Sudan.

These include citizens of different districts of the state. On the instructions of the government, citizens returning from Sudan were taken to their homes through buses and taxis. Thus far, a total of 316 people of Uttar Pradesh have returned from Sudan, an official said.

These include 44 persons from Lucknow, 37 from Deoria, 18 from Ballia, seven from Kanpur, Basti (4), Ghazipur (10), Azamgarh (10), Varanasi (4), Prayagraj (3), Mau (13), Fatehpur (1), Kushinagar (24) and Muzaffarnagar 3. Eleven persons of Kaunpur, one from Bahraich and Gonda each, one from Sant Kabirnagar, three from Siddharthnagar, four from Nodia, two from Bareilly, Pratapgarh (1), Balrampur (1), Meerut (1) and 19 people belonging to Gorakhpur have also safely returned.
