After The Killing Of Gangster In Lucknow Court, Security Beefed Up Across UP Courts
Lucknow, June 8 (TNA) Security in court premises around the state has been beefed up following the day-light killing of dreaded criminal Sanjeev Maheshwari aka Jeeva in the Lucknow court at Qaiserbagh in the state capital on Wednesday. Special DG (Law & Order) Prashant Kumar has directed all district police chiefs to coordinate with local Bar Associations and ensure foolproof security in courts.
Orders have also been issued to ensure that courts have advanced, hitech security equipments to frisk all those who are coming to court premises. Instructions have also been issued to check the CCTV’s already installed in the courts and if found not working, they should be attended to with immediate effect.
UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the killing, which sent shockwaves in the state. ADG Mohit Agarwal, JCP Lucknow Neelabja Chowdhary, IG Ayodhya Praveen Kumar will be part of the SIT.
