Agra Metro Employees Engage In ‘Shramdan’ To Mark Gandhi Jayanti, Undertake Cleanliness Oath

Agra, October 2 (TNA) The employees of Agra Metro Rail Project engaged in Shramdan (cleanliness activities) and cleaned the surroundings of Taj East Gate Metro Station, Capt Shubham Gupta Metro Station , Fatehabad Road Metro Station, Agra Metro Depot, Agra Metro Project Director Office, Taj Mahal Metro Station, Dr Ambedkar Chowk Metro Station and Mankameshwar Metro Station. Senior officials including PD Agra Arvind Rai and the entire staff of Agra Metro Project were present at various sites and engaged in Shramdan.

Under the ongoing ‘Swachhta hi Seva’ campaign, week-long activities were initiated to mark this noble cause. A free Health Camp for ‘Safai Mitras' was organised at Agra Metro Project, wherein the housekeeping staff enjoyed free tests like Sugar, ECG, and Free Physician Consultation in association with Pushpanjali Hospital and Research Centre.

A Musical Chair Competition activity was organised at Taj Mahal Metro Station for the housekeeping staff, and the winners were felicitated by Metro Officials. A plantation drive under the theme ‘Ek ped maa ke naam’ was carried out in the casting yard in the presence of Chief Project Manager Surendra Singh.

The Agra metro employees also undertook an oath of cleanliness which entails that every employee will contribute 100 hours every year towards cleanliness and also urge others to keep their surroundings clean, as cleanliness is godliness.

Towards the culmination of ‘Swachhta Pakhwada’ the employees rigorously engaged in shramdan on the guidelines of Govt of India’s initiative ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ and gave a strong message of keeping one’s surroundings clean.
