All Govt Schools In UP To Start Attendance Of Teachers On Tablets From July 15

Lucknow, June 24 (TNA) From July 15 attendance of basic teachers in Uttar Pradesh will be recorded in tablets, twice in the morning and afternoon. This is part of the Yogi government’s ongoing drive to to make the council schools of the state digitally active. Instructions have been issued to digitize all the 12 types of registers of council schools across the state and to digitally mark the attendance of teachers and students. Under this, students as well as teachers will have to register their attendance through face recognition system (showing their face) on the tablet.

From July 15, this process will be implemented in the entire state. It is noteworthy that the Yogi government has been insisting on digitalization of all kinds of work in council schools for a long time. Under this, a digital module has been prepared on the Prerna portal to digitize all 12 types of registers of these schools. Not only this, tablets and SIMs have also been provided to schools for digital attendance.

Director General, School Education Kanchan Verma has instructed the Basic Education Officers of all districts to fill all the registers of council schools through digital means. Attendance, admission, class-wise student attendance, mid-day meal, consolidated free material distribution, stock, income-adult and check issue, meeting, inspection, correspondence, child enumeration and library and sports register have been digitized in schools.

A new module called Digital Registers has been developed on Prerna Portal for simplification of registers and technology based digital access. The digital format of the registers has been designed in line with the physical registers currently in use. Accordingly, all entries will now be marked on the digital platform.

Tablets and smartphones will be identified through geofencing and it will be mandatory for teachers and principals to be present in the school premises while registering their presence on the portal.

As per the instructions, all the teachers will attend from 1st April to 30th September on arrival from 7.45 am to 8 am and departure from 2.15 pm to 2.30 pm. At the same time, from October 1 to March 31, arrival attendance can be registered from 8.45 am to 9 am and departure attendance from 3.15 pm to 3.30 pm. However, for the time being, till further orders, teachers will be able to attend from 7.15 am to 7.30 am and leave from 1.30 pm to 1.45 pm.

Attendance after the scheduled time will not be accepted. 2,09,863 tablets have been made available by the department for the use of teachers of council primary/composite schools. At the same time, the process of providing tablets to the teachers of council upper primary schools is going on.

All teachers and staff in these schools will mark their attendance daily with their mobile numbers/smartphones registered on the Prerna portal. After this attendance will be verified by the Principal. Tablets and smartphones will be identified through geofencing and it will be mandatory for teachers and principals to be present in the school premises while registering their presence on the portal.
