Allahabad HC Asks Noida Police On Furnish Details On Action Taken Against Corrupt Cops In Past Three Years
Prayagraj, February 29 (TNA) Allahabad High Court has sought details of the action taken under the Prevention of Corruption Act against policemen in Gautam Buddha Nagar in the last three years. The court has asked how many policemen have been booked under this Act during this period and how many have been dismissed without notice.
The court has asked the Assistant Police Commissioner and the investigating officer to be present on the next date of hearing, March 12. Justice Sanjay Kumar Singh has given this order while hearing the anticipatory bail plea of Ankit Balyan. The court has also directed the Registrar of Compliance to ensure compliance with the order and has asked it to provide its information to the concerned authorities within three days.
The petitioner is posted as a constable in Rabupura police station of Gautam Buddha Nagar. An FIR was lodged against him in Beta-Two police station for demanding a bribe of Rs 1 lakh from Wasim Kabadi. Its WhatsApp voice recording is also viral. The scrap dealer had also complained about this to the CM.
On the instructions of higher officials, an FIR was registered against the petitioner and the Gautam Buddha Nagar Police Commissioner dismissed him. When the lower court rejected the anticipatory bail of the petitioner, he approached the High Court.
It is said on behalf of the petitioner that he has been falsely implicated and that the viral video was fake. The Police Commissioner dismissed him without issuing a show cause notice. After hearing the arguments of the petitioner, the court approved anticipatory bail. Along with this, a complete report of the action taken in the corruption case in Gautam Buddha Nagar on personal affidavit has also been summoned.
