Allahabad HC Quashes Criminal Case Proceedings Against BSP MLA Uma Shankar Singh

Prayagraj, February 9 (TNA) Allahabad High Court has given big relief to BSP MLA Umashankar Singh of Rasra and 10 others. The ongoing criminal case against him in the Additional Sessions Court, Ballia, on charges of bank fraud and corruption, has been quashed.

The court had refused to return the case on the basis of settlement between the parties, saying that the permission of the High Court was not taken before the withdrawal application.

The court has also canceled the order of Additional Sessions Court Ballia dated 30 September 22 and has approved the case withdrawal application of the public prosecutor under section 321 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
