Allahabad HC Refuses To Quash FIR Against Alt News Co-Founder Mohd Zubair

Prayagraj, June 13 (TNA) The Allahabad High Court has refused to quash an FIR filed against Mohd Zubair, co-founder of fact-checker Alt News. The FIR was lodged over his tweets wherein he had called Yati Narsinghanand, Bajrang Muni and Anand Swaroop as 'Hate mongers'.

Zubair has been booked u/S 295-A IPC. Zubair had sought relief from the Allahabad HC claiming that the FIR was lodged to harrass him and his tweets were not intended to insult anyone's religious beliefs. The High Court however refused to grant relief stating that prima facie a case is made out against Zubair and there appears to be sufficient ground for investigation.
