Allahabad HC Rejects Swami Prasad Maurya’s Petition For Y Or Z Category Security
Lucknow, April 4 (TNA) A petition seeking Y or Z category security for Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Swami Prasad Marya, after his controversial remarks on Hindu epic Shri Ramcharit Manas, has been turned down by the Allahabad High Court (HC). The counsel for the former UP minister had contended that his current security was not sufficient as he being an MLC had got only two gunners at present.
The Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court rejected the petition, considering it as insignificant. However, the court has given an exemption to the petitioner that if he is not satisfied with the security-related commissionerate level decision, he can challenge it before any competent court or forum.
This order was given by the division bench of Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyay and Justice Om Prakash Shukla while hearing the petition filed by Swami Prasad Maurya.
