Allahabad HC Reserves Verdict On Anticipatory Bail Application Of Omar Ansari
Prayagraj, December 1 (TNA) Relief in Abbas Ansari's brother Umar's controversial statement case remains intact as the Allahabad High Court has reserved its decision on the anticipatory bail application. Justice Samit Gopal gave this order while reserving the verdict on the anticipatory bail application filed by Omar Ansari. However, while giving interim relief, the court has also imposed some conditions. In the 2022 assembly elections, Abbas Ansari gave a controversial statement during a meeting.
The Allahabad High Court has upheld the interim relief granted to Omar Ansari, who was made an accused along with Abbas, in the case of the controversial statement given by Abbas Ansari during the assembly elections in Kotwali Nagar, Mau. The court completed the hearing on Omar's anticipatory bail application on Thursday and reserved its decision. The petitioner has been restrained from proceeding on furnishing a personal bond of Rs 50,000 and two similar securities till the next date of hearing.
During the hearing on Thursday, senior advocates Gopal Swaroop Chaturvedi and Upendra Upadhyay presented their side on behalf of the petitioner. Said that the petitioner has nothing to do with the disputed statement. The police have registered an FIR because of his presence in the meeting. After hearing both the sides, the court reserved its decision and kept the interim anticipatory bail already issued till the next date of hearing.
