AMU Medical, Dental And Engineering Colleges Among The Top In India Today Rankings

Aligarh, June 29 (TNA) The 17th rank of the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC) and the tenth position of the Dr Ziauddin Ahmed Dental College (ZADC) in the recently released India Today Rankings- 2022 bear testimony that neither the pandemic nor the lockdowns came in the way of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) in its unwavering commitment to constantly improve medical education and health facilities.

Both medical and dental colleges of AMU have climbed up from their India Today 2021 rankings. JNMC reached the 17th rank from the 18th position in 2021, while ZADC made it to the tenth place from 11th position last year.

“Our doctors have been playing an important role in handling the biggest health crisis the world has faced in decades, Covid-19. Everyone in Uttar Pradesh and the nearby states — from the low-income patients who throng the hospital’s OPD for its promise of affordable care, to the VIPs who also stand in the lines for treatment — know that JNMC and ZADC are among the best in the country”, said AMU Vice Chancellor, Prof Tariq Mansoor.

“From equipment to medical protocols, and, most importantly, the freedom to pursue your research interests, everything is top of the line at JNMC”, said Prof Shahid A Siddiqui (Principal, JNMC).

Prof Rajendra Kumar Tewari (Principal, ZADC) pointed out: “The rankings show that ZADC provides transformative professional education and training, encouraging self evaluation and independent thinking”.

Meanwhile, the Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology (ZHCET) also climbed up one spot to reach the 22nd position among all engineering colleges of the Country in the India Today Rankings- 2022. In the 2021 rankings, ZHCET was ranked 23rd.

“A hub of research and development, ZHCET has maintained its excellence through new centres of study. The continuous improvement in rankings of our engineering college is due to untiring efforts of faculty members and students setting the overall performance of ZHCET across widely accepted indicators of excellence”, said the Vice Chancellor, Prof Tariq Mansoor while extending congratulations to the engineering college functionaries.

Prof Mohammad Altamush Siddiqui (Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology) praised the faculty members, researchers and students for maintaining ZHCET as a centre of excellence in training, research and development in engineering science and technology.

Prof M M Sufyan Beg (Principal, ZHCET) stressed: “Even as there is a rush for admissions in engineering colleges across the Country, ZHCET stands out as one of the preferred academic destinations because of the strong focus on research, development and innovation and highest education in engineering based on quality”.

“The success of our medical, dental and engineering colleges is because of several important parameters like quality of students, research publications, academic productivity, faculty, placements, academic performance and several others. Therefore, all the students who are presently preparing for their class 12th board exams should aim to get admissions in the medical, dental and engineering courses at AMU”, remarked Prof M Salim Beg (Chairman, Committee for Ranking of the University).
