As COVID Situation Worsens, Hazratganj Traders Association, Book Sellers To Down Shutters Till Thursday

Lucknow, April 18 (TNA) The Hazratganj Traders Association on Sunday extended their voluntary closure of shops and market till Thursday, an office bearer informed. The Lucknow Booksellers Association also followed suit and decided to down shutters of all bookshop’s in the city till Wednesday.

The decision will be reviewed again on Wednesday based on the ground situation of COVID, which has for the last ten days spun out of control in the city, leaving many dead and many more in the hospitals.

"The decision has been taken keeping in view the safety of the city and its citizens and also to reduce pressure on the healthcare system", a shop owner informed. In a related decision, the Sarrafa Committee of Mandi Chowk Moradabad has also decided to close all shops for the next two days owing to the worsening situation in the city.
