Lucknow, January 15 (TNA) Most parts of Uttar Pradesh will continue to shiver under extreme cold wave conditions for the next 3-4 days, the weatherman has predicted.

According to the Regional Met Office, the icy winds blowing from the north-west have added bite to the cold and the situation is likely to remain the same for the next few days.

Met Director JP Gupta informed that after a few days-possibly next week, the winds will slow down and the mercury in day will increase, bringing some relief.

Night shelters have been arranged for the homeless at many places by the UP government.

Many parts of the state have been reeling under intense cold wave for the past two days, with some areas not even getting sunlight.

Adding to the cold is the overhead sky and winds blowing in many parts of the state. Meerut, Ayodhya, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Kanpur, Lucknow, Bareilly, Agra and Jhansi have recorded below normal temperatures. In some parts of the state day temperatures have also gone down.
