ASI Survey Of Gyanvapi Complex In Varanasi To Begin Today, Security Arrangements In Place
Varanasi, August 4 (TNA) MAssive security preparations have been made in Varanasi ahead of the survey of the Gyanvapi complex by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) as cleared by the Allahabad High Court (HC) on Thursday. The survey is set to start anytime now and security agencies have been put on high alert and they are also keeping a tab of the social media platforms to ensure that mischief makers are kept at bay, an official informed.
A team of ASI has already reached Varanasi. Varanasi Police Commissioner Ashok Mutha Jain said all the preparations are in place and that the survey will be carried out unhindered. District Magistrate S Rajlingam said the orders of the court will be complied with and that the district administration would extend all necessary help to the surveying team of ASI experts.
Senior police and district officials had on Thursday inspected the complex and nearby areas to assess the security requirements and after a three hour survey, security was put into place. The Allahabad HC had on Thursday given a go ahead for the survey by ASI which will now be conducted on the whole Gyanvapi complex except the Wazukhana area which had been earlier sealed.
