Assistant Commandant Of PAC Attempts Suicide In Etawah, Wife Also Critical After Consuming Poison

Etawah, June 14 (TNA) A senior officer of the Uttar Pradesh Police attempted to kill himself after a spat with his wife in Etawah district. He has been admitted to a medical facility where he is battling for life.

According to police, a circle officer (CO) with the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) Rakesh Nayak had a tiff with his wife after which he tried to hang himself while his wife consumed poison.

Nayak is assistant commandant of the 28th battalion of the PAC and is posted in Etawah. His wife is also in very critical condition, an officer informed. Bothe were initially rushed to the district hospital but were referred to the Saifai PGI as both were in very critical state.
