Atique Ahmed’s Son Asad And Shooter Mohd Ghulam Killed In Encounter With UP STF In Jhansi
Lucknow, April 13 (TNA) The Special Task Force (STF) of the Uttar Pradesh Police gunned down Asad, son of gangster mafia Atique Ahmed in Jhansi on Thursday. He was one of the prime accsued in the Umesh Pal murder case and carried a cash reward of Rs five lakh on his head. He was on the run ever since the high profile, daylight murder in February which shook the state.
Mohd Ghulam, a sharp shooter Mohd Ghulam was also killed in the police encounter. Senior officials of the STF told media persons that the duo was asked to surrender but when challenged they opened fire on the UP STF team and were killed in retaliatory firing by the cops. According to information available, many foreign made weapons were also found with them.
Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya, senior BJP leader Swatantra Dev Singh lauded the action of the UPSTF and said that under Operation “Mitti Mein Mila Denge”, criminals were being brought to justice and while it would have been appropriate that they surrendered but when they challenged the cops and assaulted them, the cops were left with no option but to open fire.
The encounter comes at a time when his father Atique Ahmed and his uncle Ashraf are being produced before the CJM Court in Prayagraj in the Umesh Pal murder case.
