Atique-Ashraf Murder Case: Accused Trio Produced Before CJM, Matter Transferred To Sessions Court

Prayagraj, July 14 (TNA) The three accused in the murder case of dreaded mafia don-turned politician Atique Ahmed and his brother Ashraf, were produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court on Friday. The hearing was held in an online mode through video conferencing.

As the shooters Lavlesh, Sunny and Arun Maurya were presented before the CJM Court, the matter was transferred to the Sessions court. On Thursday the Special Investigation Team (SIT) had filed a voluminous chargesheet against the three murder accused. The chargesheet runs into 2056 pages.

Atique and his younger brother Ashraf were murdered in police custody in full media glare on April 15 as they were being taken for routine medical check up.
