ATS Arrests Nine At Kanpur Railway Station For Human Trafficking

Lucknow, December 13 (TNA) The UP Police ATS continued to crack down on human traffickers in Uttar Pradesh and on Monday after a concrete tip-off from an informer arrested nine people at the Kanpur railway station. ATS IG Dr. GK Goswami said that his team has arrested nine more accused in the case of human trafficking from Kanpur railway station.

Goswami furtehr said that originally eight Bangladeshi nationals were caught with fake identity cards made in Hindu names. Mahfuzoor Rahman, the kingpin of human smugglers, has been apprehended from West Bengal.

After this, our team raided the Kanpur railway station on the information received. Those who have been caught, preparations were being made to send their fake documents in India and send them to other countries.

Dr. Goswami told that there are some such people who have been sent to other countries, they have come back, during their interrogation it has come to know that they are used in human trafficking.

After getting information from people caught from Kanpur, our team also went to Kolkata, where during investigation they have seized Bangladeshi ID cards of these people.
