Varanasi, March 8 (TNA) The Varanasi district administration on Tuesday trahsed allegations by the Samajwadi Party (SP) that the electronic voting machines (EVMs) were being tampered with. Earlier SP workers had created a ruckus at the strong room built in Pahariya Mandi, as dummy EVM’s were being taken for vote counting training of personnel on election duty.

District Magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma clarified that all these EVM machines are not related to elections. All the EVMs were on their way to UP College for training tomorrow for the counting of votes to be held on March 10.

Sharma further said that the EVMs were going to UP College for training while some political people have spread rumors by stopping the vehicle and calling it the EVM used in the election.

Tomorrow is the second training of the employees engaged in counting duty and these machines are always used in training for hands-on training, he added. The DM also made it clear that all the EVMs used in the elections are sealed in the possession of the CRPF in the strong room and there is CCTV surveillance which is being watched by the people of all political parties.
