Azaan Part Of Islam, Loudspeakers Not, Says Allahabad High Court

1 min read

Prayagraj, May 6 (TNA) The Allahad High Court (HC) has dismissed a plea against removal of loudspeakers from religious places and said that this is not a violation of fundamental rights at all. While making a comment during its order, the court said that azaan is a part of Islam, but giving azaan through loudspeaker is not a necessary part of Islam. The court said that this has been proved earlier also.

The Yogi government had ordered that if more than the prescribed number of loudspeakers are installed at religious places, then they should be removed. This order was challenged by the management of a mosque of Badaun. The Masjid Committee had filed an application in the Allahabad High Court calling it a violation of fundamental rights.

It was demanded in the petition that the order to give azaan from loudspeaker should be passed. At present, the High Court has dismissed the petition of Irfan, responsible for the Noori Masjid Committee of Badaun, after hearing the entire matter.
