Big Blow To Azam Khan, Allahabad HC Dismissed Plea Against Lease Cancellation Of Rampur School
Prayagraj, March 18 (TNA) In a big blow to veteran Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Mohd Azam Khan, the Allahabad High Court (HC) on Monday dismissed his petition seeking stay on the state government’s decision to cancel lease of land belonging to Rampur public school. The double bench of Justice Manoj Kumar Gupta and Justice Kshitij Shailendra pronounced the decision on the Rampur Public School of Maulana Mohammad Johar University Trust at court no 21.
The decision was given in the case of cancellation of the lease of Jauhar Trust by the government, after the hearing on the petition of the trust, Allahabad High Court reserved the decision on December 18, 2023. The court had reserved the decision after hearing the arguments of both the parties.
Maulana Mohammad Johar University Trust has challenged the UP government's decision to cancel the lease in the Allahabad High Court. In the writ petition of the University Trust, the lease deed related to the university has been cancelled. The Uttar Pradesh government's move to confiscate the land was challenged.
The SIT report filed in this case was also cited by the UP government, after listing the petition for urgent entry on the directions of the Supreme Court, the Allahabad High Court The double bench heard this petition, The court had also directed the state government to keep the helpline running for the children of Rampur Public School till the end of the academic year 2023-24.
