BJP Complaints To ECI, Seeks Action Against Congress’s Imran Masood For “Provocative Statement”
Lucknow, April 13 (TNA) The Uttar Pradesh unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has knocked on the doors of the chief electoral officer of the state, seeking action against Congress candidate from Saharanpur, Imran Masood. In a letter to the polling officer, the ruling party has cited the recent statement of the Congress leader which has said that if BJP comes to power this time, first the people will be treated and then he will be treated by home minister Amit Shah.
A video of the statement is doing the rounds on social media. The BJP has complained that the statement amounted to inciting fear in a specific community and raising communal tensions. They also said that Masood is also trying to foment trouble and violence during the elections. The party has sought stern action against him also.
