BJP Leader Shot Dead In Jaunpur, Had Contested 2012 Vidhan Sabha Polls

Jaunpur, March7 (TNA) A leader of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Pramod Yadav was shot dead by unidentified miscreants on Wednesday morning, police said. He had contested the 2012 Vidhan Sabha polls from the Malhani seat against Dhananjay Singh’s wife Jagriti Singh. Paras Nath Yadav of the Samajwadi Party (SP) had emerged succesful in the contest.

According to information available, the leader was shot at at the Bodhapur turn falling under the Buxa police station. He was rushed to the district hospital where he succumbed to his gun shot injuries. Police have sent the body for postmortem and an investigation is underway.
