BJP Releases List Of MLC Candidates In UP, Vijay Bahadur Pathak Repeated

Lucknow, March 9 (TNA) The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday released the list of seven candidates for the biennial elections to the upper house (Vidhan Parishad) of the UP Vidhan Sabha. While the party has repeated Vijay Bahadur Pathak, its one-time state spokesman, the party has dropped two Muslim MLCs - Buqqal Nawab and Mohsin Raza.

Others who have been named for the elections include former UP minister Mahendra Kumar Singh, Ashok Katariya, Mohit and Dharmendra Singh. Ram Teerth Singhal and Santosh Singh have also been fielded for the MLC polls. Dharmendra Singh is a former journalist and hails from Varanasi while Santosh Singh is from Lucknow.
