BJP Rewards RPN Singh For Dumping Congress, Picks Him For Rajya Sabha Ticket From UP

Lucknow, February 12 (TNA) The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) continues to reward rebel Congress leaders. After Jyotiraditya Scindia, now RPN Singh zipped past many party old-timers in the saffron camp on Sunday as the party nominated him as a Rajya Sabha candidate from Uttar Pradesh, where the party is in a position to send seven members to the upper House of the Parliament.

The Union Minister in the Congress government was also a close associate of Rahul Gandhi but when he realised the the fortunes of the Congress were not going to change, he dumped the grand old party in favour of the BJP.

With the joining of RPN Singh, who comes from a backward community, the BJP has strengthened it among the backward community of Purvanchal.

Its effect was visible in the assembly elections also and now BJP can get the benefit of RPN Singh in the Lok Sabha elections also. Along with RPN Singh, BJP's flamboyant spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi has also been given a ticket to enter Rajya Sabha again through UP. BJP has also named Tejveer Singh, Sadhna Singh, Amarpal Maurya, Sangeeta Balwant and Naveen Jain from UP.
