Boat Capsizes In Ballia, Three Women Drown

Ballia, May 22 (TNA) Three women drowned in Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh on Monday when the boat they were in capsized in the Ganga river, police said. At the time of the mishap there were 30 persons on the boat. Rescue work in underway as some more people are said to be missing.

District Magistrate (DM) of Ballia, Ravindra Kumar confirmed the incident and informed the media that the occupants of the ill-fated boat were returning from a head tonsuring ceremony when the mishap happened at the Maldepur Ganga Ghat.
