Bright, Young BJP Worker Kills Self In Shamli After Party Denies Him Ticket In Civic Polls

Shamli, April 17 (TNA) In a shocking incident a worker of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Uttar Pradesh, Deepak Saini killed himself after being denied ticket in the upcoming civic body polls. He had won the last municipal elections at the young age of 19 on the symbol of BJP. He was very attached to the party, but he was heart-broken for not getting the ticket that he ended his life by consuming poisonous substances, a family member informed.

Deepak, a resident of Mohalla Raizadgan in Kandhla, was currently holding the responsibility of District Research Head in BJP's backward class cell. In the year 2017, Deepak contested the last civic election from Ward-3 on the symbol of BJP. This time he staked claim for the post of chairman, but was refused by the party due to his age.

After which Deepak applied to the party for the post of councilor from Ward-1. Ward-3 was reserved for scheduled caste this time.

Deepak was so upset after his name did not figure in the list that he bought poisonous substance from the market and after coming home mixed it with water and drank it. By the time the relatives took him to the hospital in Meerut, he had died.
