BSP’s Prominent Brahmin Face Ramveer Upadhyay Resigns, Accuses Leadership Of Deserting Ideals Of Kanshiram

Agra, January 14 (TNA) In a season of defections and desertions by politicians ahead of the curicial state assembly elections, Friday saw another major face - Bahuajn Samaj Party (BSP) leader Ramveer Upadhyaya quit the party. He was former power minister in the Mayawati government and was one of the most prominent faces of the BSP.

In a letter addressed to the party leadership, Upadhyaya accused the BSP leaders of deserting the ideology and path of late Kanshiram. The MLA from Sadabad also said that despite severe electoral losses and reverses in 2012, 2014, 2017 and 2019, the party remain blind to the downslide and did not care to review the situation and arrest the drop in support. He is likely to join the BJP later in the day.
