Lucknow, April 3 (TNA) Senior bureaucrat Navneet Sehgal took the first shot of the Coronavirus vaccine at a medical facility in the state capital on Saturday. Accompanied with his wife Vandana Sehgal, the additional chief secretary Information and MSME, took the Covaxin shot and later exhorted people to come forward and take the vaccine without fear or paying heed to rumours.

"Had my first dose of vaccination today. I appeal to all those who are eligible for vaccination to get themselves vaccinated," the IAS officer said. He further said that all eligible persons, as per guidelines prescribed by the government of India, should become part of the pan-Indian immunisation drive. He further urged people to "take all precautions to avoid spread of the pandemic."
