Cane Charge Of Allahabad Varsity Students: Lawyers File Petition In The High Court

Prayagraj, January 27 (TNA) A group of lawyers has filed a writ petition before the Allahabad High Court (HC) over the recent cane charge by the police on hostel students of the Allahabad University.

In a letter petition filed by five lawyers, it has been demanded that a judical probe be ordered and the accused policement suspended and then dismissed from service.

The letter petition has been filed by lawyers AP Pal, PK Jaiswar, Shailjakant Tripathi and two others. Six of the policemen involved have already been suspended though and an FIR has been lodged against 1000 students.
