Prayagraj, February 12 (TNA) The Allahabad High Court (HC) will on Monday hear two petitions filed by the Muslim side against granting permission for worship in the Vyasji basement of Gyanvapi. The hearing in the case will be held from 10 am as serial number 38 is listed in court number 6.

The case is being heard by a single bench of Justice Rohit Ranjan Aggarwal. The petition of the Muslim side seeking a ban on the puja in Vyasji basement will be heard. The Muslim side has challenged the January 31 order of the Varanasi District Judge in the Allahabad High Court. The petition has been filed by the Intezamia Committee of the mosque.

Both parties had presented their arguments in the court in the hearing on 7th February where the order of the district judge was declared correct by the temple side. The Hindu side had said that physical possession has been with the plaintiff and a key to the basement has remained in the family. At the same time, the mosque side had termed the District Judge's order as beyond its jurisdiction.

Muslim side's advocate SFA Naqvi had argued that the basement in question was earlier a part of the mosque. Later barricading was done there, he said while adding that many times in their earlier objections also. From 1993 till now, even the Hindu side has no control here.

The Muslim side had said that the suit was presented in the civil judge's court but the district judge transferred it to his court and passed the order.
