ETAH || Uttar Pradesh has been working doubly hard to ensure that it can abate the problem of Coronavirus infections at the earliest. It seems the curse of the pandemic was not enough. Adding to the woes of the people of UP’s Etah, people are virtually locking up their homes and leaving for the fear of being affected by dengue.

In Etah’s Kasetti village, dengue has struck fear in every home. In a short span, 13 people have lost their lives in a week. Hundreds are still reeling from the aftereffects of dengue. Most being treated in hospitals in Agar, Aligarh, Etawah.

While some here are mourning the death of their loved ones, some are praying to God that they recover fast. Apart from the palpable fear, villages are also angry that the Health Department is just passing time with formalities, instead of solid course correction.

It is reported that the Health Department did not set up any camp in the village. The least that was done was giving few pills.

Seeing a dire situation developing in the village, the local populace has requested the district administration for help.

They have appealed to the government to intervene at the earliest. As villagers get agitated, officials in the health department dealing with malaria and dengue have been quoted saying the health department is constantly visiting this village and tests have been carried out.
