Despite BJP Wave, 11 Ministers Lost UP Assembly Polls

Lucknow, March 11 (TNA) In times when the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) stunned everyone with its performance in the state assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, 11 ministers in the Yogi Adityanath government could not save their fortunes and lost the polls. The list of the “unlucky” is led by deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya who lost in Sirathu to Pallavi Patel, candidate of the Samajwadi Party SP) alliance.

Loss of Maurya, a prominent face of Backwards in the Saffron camp took away some celebration spirit of the BJP which returned to power for a second straight term in Uttar Pradesh, loss of Suresh Rana, the cane minister from Thana Bhawan has also come as a shocker.

Other ministers who have lost the elections include Moti Singh from Patti, Chandrika Upadhyay from Chitrakoot, Chatrapal Singh Gangwar from Baheri, Anand Swaroop Shukla from Beriya, Upendra Tiwari from Phephna and Sangeeta Balwant from Ghazipur.

Ranvendra Singh Dhunni has lost from Hussainganj, Lakhan Singh Rajur from Dibiyapur, Satish Dwivedi from Itwa and Sangeet Balwant from Ghazipur have also lost the polls.
