Dog Dies, Two Drown After Car Falls Into Gomti River In Lucknow

Lucknow, December 21 (TNA) A car fell into the Gomti river late on Tuesday. The car was at a high speed and the driver apparently lost control and fell into the river at Gomti River Front on the way to Mahanagar Paper Mill Colony. Four people, including a woman in the car, and a dog drowned.

Meanwhile, the driver and a young man who were trying to get out were pulled out as two people walking on the riverfront threw a rope band saved them. Search for the woman and her partner continued till late night, but they bcould not be found.

The car was pulled out through a crane, in which the dog's body was found. The duo which drowned in water have been identified as Meena Kumari and Rahul alias Mannu Yadav - both residents of Mirzapur. While Abhishek, who escaped, is a resident of Vikasnagar, Lucknow, Dushyant is from Sitapur.

According to JCP law and order Piyush Mordiya, at around ten o'clock in the night, four people came by car on the river front on the way to Paper Mill rmill from Samta Mulak intersection. The speeding car went uncontrolled and fell into the Gomti river. Due to which a pet dog was also trapped inside along with four people.
