Lucknow, Nov 20 (TNA) Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Saturday demanded from the prime minister Narendra Modi that he act on the Lakhimpur violence in which innocent farmers were allegedly mowed down by a car driven by the son of union minister of state for home affairs Ajay Misra ‘Teni’.

Addressing a press conference at her residence in the state capital where she read out a letter she has written to Modi demanding the immediate sacking of Teni. While you told the country yesterday in your address that you have the most noble thoughts about the farmers of India, your home minister Amit Shah and UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath have been sharing the stage with Teni.

This, she said raised serious and genuine concerns in the minds of people, specially farmers, that justice was not going to come their way. “I have read in newspapers today that you are in the city to deliberate with DGP’s of the country on the law and order in the country, it would however be sad if you share the state with Teni, whose son is prime accused in the Lakhimpur incident, she said further.
