Dust Storm-Rains Hits Lucknow, Many Parts Of Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow, May 27 (TNA) A massive dust storm hit the state capital of Uttar Pradesh on Saturday noon, disrupting normal life. It was followed by gusty winds and heavy rains. Similar weather has been reported from parts of the state. Reports suggest heavy rains in Mainpuri, Bewar, Kannauj and Kanpur as well. The Weatherman had predicted similar weather conditions over the next 48-hours.

As a result of the storm and the rains, mercury dropped considerable in the state, specially the state capital and the neighbouring regions. It has been raining off and on for the past few days in Uttar Pradesh, giving people some respite from the gruelling heat wave that persisted for the past ten days. Noida and Ghaziabad, along with many parts of the western UP have also reported overnight rains.

Owing to the heavy rains, power outages and traffic jams have been reported from many parts of the city and even some highways.
