ED Raids JDU MLC Radha Charan Shah And SP Leader Azam Khan for Tax Evasion
Lucknow/Patna, Sep 13 (TNA) In a significant development, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday conducted raids at the residence of JDU MLC Radha Charan Shah and multiple locations associated with Samajwadi Party's senior leader Azam Khan. The ED's team, accompanied by the CRPF, arrived at Radha Charan Shah's farmhouse once again, following previous visits that yielded unclear results.
Radha Charan Shah faces allegations of promoting illegal activities in Bihar in association with the notorious 'Balu' mafia. Earlier this year, the Income Tax department had conducted raids at 18 different locations linked to him, spanning Patna, Ara, Buxar, as well as distant places like Haridwar, Manali, Noida, Jharkhand, Delhi, and Ghaziabad.
Meanwhile, Azam Khan's properties in several cities, including Rampur, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Saharanpur, Lucknow, and Sitapur, have been targeted by the Income Tax department's teams. The operations are ongoing as authorities investigate possible tax evasion and undisclosed assets.
Both cases have garnered significant attention, with the ED and Income Tax department intensifying their efforts to uncover any financial irregularities.
