ED To Probe Constable Recruitment Paper Leak Case Under PMLA, Many Officials Under Scanner
Lucknow, May 3 (TNA) The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has filed a case in the constable recruitment case. This is the first time that investigation will be done under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). ED will soon interrogate all the accused in jail.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has registered a case under money laundering and started an investigation into the issue of paper of written examination for direct recruitment to 60,244 posts of Reserve Civil Police, an official informed. This case has been registered based on cases registered by UP Police.
The paper of this examination held on 18th and 19th February was leaked after which the state’s BJP government handed over the investigation to STF. Operators of printing presses and transport companies that print paper will also be tightened. The main accused Rajeev Nayan Mishra, Ravi Attri, Dr. Shubham Mandal, transport company employees Shivam Giri, Rohit Pandey, Abhishek Shukla, Delhi Police constable Vikram Pahal along with Shivshakti Resort of Rewa in Madhya Pradesh and Haryana are in jail. The owners of Nature Valley Resort located in Manesar are to be interrogated.
In fact, an STF investigation revealed that hundreds of candidates were called to read the papers in both resorts. It was also revealed that Rajiv Nayan Mishra and Ravi Attri, in connivance with the employees of the transport company, had opened the paper boxes kept in the warehouse in Ahmedabad from behind and photographed them, which were later sold to the candidates for lakhs of rupees. For this, Dr. Shubham Mandal, an expert in opening the box, was called from Patna.
The papers of the second shift of both the days of the written examination of constable recruitment were out. After this, the Chief Minister cancelled the examination and ordered an investigation by STF. So far, 300 persons have been arrested.
Members of this gang have got the papers out for dozens of competitive exams including UPTET, RO/ARO exam, NEET PG, SBI exam, AIPMT, Haryana Veterinary exam, LT grade exam and NHM nursing staff recruitment exam. Officers of Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board may also come under the ambit of ED's investigation. The printing press was selected by the board officials.
After the paper was printed, it was kept in the warehouse of the transport company in Ahmedabad, where there were not adequate security arrangements. The information about the paper leak of the second shift of the first day started spreading on social media, but the board officials kept ignoring it. Later, when pressure increased, representations were taken from the candidates.
