Election Commission Relaxes Some Norms For State Assembly Elections

Lucknow, January 31 (TNA) The Election Commission of India has relaxed the norms for the state assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh and four other states including Punjab Goa, Manipur and Uttarakhand.

But while the ban on large physical rallies will continue for the time being, the poll panel has said that 1,000 people can attend the meeting organized in the open space. Apart from this, 500 people can attend indoor meetings.

Norms for door-to-door campaigns have also been relaxed. Now 20 people will be able to campaign from door to door.
