Eminent Socialist And Former UP Minister Bhagwati Singh Passes Away

Lucknow, April 4 (TNA) Eminent socialist and former UP minister Bhagwati Singh passed away in Lucknow in the wee hours of Sunday. He was asleep at a degree college in Bakshi Ka Talaaq when the end came. He was to many socialist stalwarts including former prime minister Chandrashekhar, Dr Ram Manohar Lohia, Raj Narayan and the founder of Samajwadi Party (SP) Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Eminent politicians have mourned the demise of the socialist leader. President of the Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (PSP) Shivpal Singh Yadav paid floral tributes to the late leader and said that he would be missed forever. Bhagwati Singh was one of the founding members of the Samajwadi Party and was known for his honesty and simplicity. SP chief Akhilesh Yadav has also mourned the passing away of the leader.
