Encephalitis On Its Last Legs In Uttar Pradesh: Yogi Adityanath
Lucknow, Oct 19 (TNA) UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday said that the state government has succeeded in controlling encephalitis (Japanese Encephalitis) by about 75 percent and death figures by 95 percent in the past three years.
Encephalitis, which had become a curse for eastern Uttar Pradesh, is today in the final stages and would soon see complete eradication, he added.
He said that after successfully controlling the global pandemic corona, the third communicable disease control campaign is starting this year. About four-and-a-half years ago today, an epidemic in eastern Uttar Pradesh had swallowed the innocent for nearly four decades.
We started this campaign against that epidemic and the importance of inter-departmental coordination and mass dialogue made us realize its strength in the last four years, he added.
Although in the first phase, seven districts of Basti and Gorakhpur were the centers of this program and this experiment, but gradually we started this campaign in all the places where patients associated with Meningitis were seen and there were widespread deaths, the chief minister further informed.
