Fake Currency Racket Operating On The Indo-Nepal Border Busted In Bahraich, Five Arrested
Bahraich, May 12 (TNA) The local Police and ATS team have arrested five people involved in the business of making and consuming fake currency. All the arrested accused are residents of Lakhimpur district. Other items including equipment for printing fake notes have also been recovered from them.
A police official informed that in Rupaidiha town, adjacent to the India-Nepal border, the team of ATS and police arrested five people of the gang who made fake notes and spent them. Thousands of Indian and Nepali fake currency, cars and equipment for printing fake notes and many other items have also been recovered from them.
SP Prashant Verma said that a joint team of Bahraich ATS in-charge Kuldeep Singh Gaur, Shravasti in-charge Vasudev Rana and Rupaidiha SO Sridhar Pathak has arrested the gang making fake notes. When the police stopped and searched a Delhi number Desire car, Indian and Nepali fake notes were recovered.
Rs 52,000 Indian and Rs 5,000 Nepali fake currency, a car, a laptop, a printer, power cable, scissors, paper for making fake currency, two Aadhaar cards, two PAN cards and five mobile phones have been recovered from the accused.
Those arrested in the business of counterfeit notes include Mustaq resident Trikolia, Salim resident Hasanpur Katauli, Alim resident Veersinghpur, Faizul Hasan alias Saidul resident Trikolia, Kuldeep Awasthi resident Raipur police station Ishanagar district Lakhimpur.
