Farmers Torch Vehicles In Lakhimpur Kheri As BJP Leader Reportedly Tried To Run Over Protestors
Lakhimpur Kheri, Oct 3 (TNA) A protest by the agitating farmers, protesting the farm laws brought by the Narendra Modi government at the centre, turned violent on Sunday afternoon when allegedly a BJP worker tried to run over a few farmers under his car. Violence broke out thereafter and the said vehicle was torched.
On Sunday, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya was about to reach Banbirpur in Lakhimpur Kheri, when there was a big ruckus in Tikunia where farmers were standing to show black flags to the Deputy Chief Minister. Even before the arrival of Keshav Prasad Maurya, there was a ruckus between some BJP workers and farmers.
It is alleged that Ashish alias Monu Mishra, son of Lakhimpur Kheri MP and Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni, tried to run over the car over the farmers. The situation is evry tense and senior officials from Lucknow have rushed to the scene of the brawl and the local DM and SSP are there to control the situation.
