Former UP Minister Ramveer Upadhyay Passes Away
Agra, Sep 3 (TNA) Former UP minister and senior BJP leader Ramveer Upadhyay passed away at a city hospital late Thursday after a prolonged battle with cancer. He was 65. He was a five-term MLA and was a regular face in the cabinet of Mayawati.
He had recently quit the BSP and joined the BJP in the run up to the 2022 state assembly polls and contested unsuccesfully from Sadabad seat. He was a symbol of the Brahmin politics in the BSP and a stalwart in Hathas politics. He served as UP’s power minister as well.
Many leaders including chief minister Yogi Adityanath, deputy CM Brajesh Pathak and PWD minister Jitin Prasada have condoled the passing of Upadhyay and have extended their sympathies to the bereaved family.
