Free Bulbs With SIM Cards Fitted Distributed In UP’s Kaushambi Create Flutter, Intelligence Agencies On Alert
Kaushambi, Oct 14 (TNA) Intelligence fraternity in Uttar Pradesh has been alerted by the mass distribution of free SIMs inserted in LED bulbs in a locality of Kaushambi district, an official said on Thursday.
Terrorist conspiracy is also being investigated while five youths have been detained for questioning. STF along with SOG are also camping in the district while local police officers have visited villages and interacted with people.
The IB and other intelligence agencies have become active after the electronic device with SIM in the LED bulb distributed in the name of Ujjwala Yojana in Meja and Kaushambi's Bharwari. As per information available, on Wednesday, two youth riding bikes reached Amroha village of Meja.
They described himself as associated with the electricity department. Giving a packet of bulbs to Rajesh Tiwari of the village itself, they said that those who have taken electricity connection, this bulb is being distributed free of cost. After giving the packet, both the youths left.
When some villagers opened the packet, the device with SIM was found in the holder. After which the Meja polcie post was informed. Something similar happened in Bharwari town as well. Some youths asked people to give free LED bulbs and holders under the Ujjwala scheme.
On Wednesday, the STF conducted raids at many other places including Bharwari, Manouri and Charva Bazar. According to sources, the police and STF have raided the neighboring districts of Prayagraj, Pratapgarh and Varanasi. SP Kaushambi, Radheshyam Vishwakarma admitted to reporters that this was a serious matter and was being probed in all seriousness.
