From Today, Speed Limit On Yamuna Expressway Fixed To 75 Kmph To Avoid Weather-Induced Mishaps
Lucknow, December 15 (TNA) With the inclement weather and foggy conditions endangering vehicular movement, the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority has stepped in to reduce the probability of road accidents.
And so from today to February 15 next year, the speed limit on the Yamuna Expressway has been reduced to 75 kmph from the present 100 kmph.
Transport Commissioner Dheeraj Sahu informed that many awareness programs have been organized during the Road Safety Week. Dense fog engulfs roads in coming months and in view of this, extreme caution is being taken at present.
YEIDA (Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority) has taken this step as a serious measure to effectively prevent accidents, the bureaucrat said.
In the instructions issued by YIDA General Manager Projects KK Singh, besides installation of speed limit boards, reflective tapes and fog lights at entry and exit points have also been asked to be installed.
