Gang Targeting Elderly At ATM Booths In Delhi-NCR Busted By Ghaziabad Police
Ghaziabad, August 15 (TNA) The Kaushambi police have arrested four criminals who used to specifically target senior citizens and elderly by fraudulently changing their ATM cards and withdrew money from people's accounts. Police have recovered 56 ATM cards, two fake name plates of different banks and a luxury car besides illegal weapons from their possession.
According to the police, the gang had been active in Delhi NCR for a long time, but it managed to dodge the police every time. This time Kaushambi police have nabbed all the four accused of this gang.
Police Officer Abhay Kumar Mishra said that Ghaziabad's Kaushambi police have arrested four members of the gang who fraudulently changed ATM cards and withdrew money during the checking. The accused, who were arrested during interrogation, said that their members used to keep an eye on such ATMs in isolated places.
Where an old person had a problem withdrawing money or did not have much knowledge about ATMs. In the name of withdrawing money for such people, they used to change these cards and withdraw money by fraud.
He informed that this gang of his is active in Delhi NCR. 56 ATMs of different banks, two fake name plates and a car with a pistol cartridge and Rs 18,300 have been recovered from them. They have since been booked and sent to jail.
