Gay Sextortion Racket Busted In Kanpur, Six Arrested

Kanpur, August 9 (TNA) A gay sextortion racket has been busted by the Kanpur police. The victims of this gang were trapped through a mobile application and then were subjected to blackmail, an official informed. Six accused have been arrested by the Kalyanpur police. All the arrested gang members are students and used the gay dating app through which they swindled lakhs of rupees.

ADCP West Lakhan Yadav who exposed the gang told mediapersons that the blackmailing gang of students included those preparing for competitive exams including engineering and medical in Kakadeo, Kanpur. The students in the gang made their profiles on BLUED gay dating app by putting attractive pictures with different names.

Based on probe into two complaints, the Kalyanpur police raided the house of Ambedkarpuram Sector-8 resident Amit Srivastava. Five mobile phones, a tablet and ATM cards of various banks have been recovered from them.

The accused include Dilip alias Pradyum Singh (21) resident of Jalaun, Arun Rajput (22) resident of Mahoba, Vipin Singh (21) resident of Jalaun, Pawan Kumar (22) resident of Mainpuri, Praveen Singh (20) resident of Kanpur Dehat and Brijendra Singh (19).
