Gold Worth Rs 2.5 Crore Hidden In Underwears Seized At Lucknow Airport

Lucknow, June 22 (TNA) Gold worth Rs 2.5 crore has been seized at the Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport at Lucknow, an official said. The sezure was made on Wednesday when four flyers, while going through custom frisking was caught with the gold, which was hidden in their underwear.

The Assistant Commissioner of Customs said that the role of four passengers who deboarded from Dubai-bound flight IX-194 and one passenger of FZ-443 on Wednesday looked suspicious. When they were examined, 4.09 kg of gold in the form of paste was recovered from the undergarments.

The price of this gold in the market is being told as Rs 2.49 crore. He told that two of these passengers are from Gopalganj in Bihar, while one each is from Mau, Santakbirnagar and Fatehpur. After interrogation, the accused have been handed over to the police.
